Human Perception, Reading 8, AV 360

Hmm...trying to understand human perception. It's pretty complicated, but I like the process the author explains our mind takes when we perceive something. The "external world" affects us through our receptors (eyes, nose, touch, etc). Then perception happens, it goes into our memory, and then we respond to it. The author really performed great research on this, but the writing it so heavy worded that it isn't easily understood. Some points though do stand out: Perception is a fight between what is real and what is illusory. How we perceive something may alter what is really there or what the real interpretation is. We all have our own range of observation, so I guess it really all depends on our receptors and what happens to the information we take in after that. The author goes on about things that affect perception, such as things being "near and far" & "stable and changing." However, I still don't think we have a general explanation for how we all seem to perceive as humans. I think it really varies by each individual.
