51 main is a strangely lit place. The entire place seems to be lighted by small pods of light that come from directly above. The result is this dim, amber ambiance that makes certain corners very dark and others very bright.
You could achieve this on stage by only lighting from above with a mix of amber, orange and white light. If you did this though, you would not be able to see the dancers' faces. in order to fix this you could add a small amount of shins just to be able to kind of see their facial expressions.
